Property

Our biggest need is to have a property that is owned by the organization. At the moment we are renting a space that we consider the beginning of this beautiful project.

Honorariums

We are constantly procuring funds to pay honorariums to the professionals and the long-term team who are committed to caring for the children in our program.

The best way to support Ahava Home is through monetary donations to continue and strengthen the work we are already doing.

Frequently Asked Questions
Preguntas Frecuntes
What is the legal status of the organization?

As of December 2021, it has been a year since we began the first phase of rehabilitation on the building we are renting. Through the course of this initial stage, we’ve been able to welcome minors who are in the care of their mothers and who have entered the program voluntarily. We still find ourselves waiting for approval on our official documents to proceed with arrangements and receive operating permits in order to receive unaccompanied minors.

What is the process for a child to reach Ahava?
  • Voluntarily:

While the legal process is carried out by institutions, there is the possibility of receiving minors with a guardian.

  • Placement:

Governmental institutions can place children in our care.

What process do children go through in Ahava?
  • Initial orientation process

  • Gather information through evaluation and interviews with significant adults or other means determined on a case-by-case basis.

  • Set personalized care goals.

How long can children stay in Ahava?

It depends. Each child’s stay will be based on her or his unique circumstances. Some of them will need an initial safe space and will later be transferred to a different location, while others may need a more extended stay due to their situation.

Currently, we care for children ranging from 4 to 11 years old.

What condition are the children you serve at Ahava in?

The conditions of exploitation and abuse that the boys and girls of Casa Ahava lived in prior to being welcomed in this place is mostly adverse; affecting their physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual states of being.
